Three Peaks in Oceania

Explore Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands through alpine ranges, volcanic summits and island landscapes surrounded by ocean.

Mountain landscapes across Oceania

Oceania combines the Australian continent with New Zealand and a widely dispersed Pacific island world. Australia’s Snowy Mountains and Victoria’s alpine country provide distinct mainland settings. New Zealand’s examples include Hawke’s Bay and the hills around Dunedin, while other Pacific destinations range from substantial volcanic islands to low coral landforms that do not contain mountain summits.

That variety is central to browsing this region. A country without high mountains should not be presented as though it has an alpine challenge, and ocean distances can make neighbouring points on a world map deceptively far apart. Open a destination to read its geographical context, then use the summit view for any listed itinerary. The map supplies orientation; it does not imply a continuous walking connection between the marked places.
