Discover Wisconsin
Wisconsin's high ground is scattered across a landscape of forest, farmland and rolling countryside. Timms Hill, Rib Mountain and Blue Mounds represent three distinct upland landmarks rather than a continuous mountain chain. Their character fits a hill country enquiry, with the surrounding regions providing as much interest as the modest elevations themselves.
Timms Hill lies in northern Wisconsin and supplies the state highpoint link. Rib Mountain anchors the central part of the selection near Wausau, while Blue Mounds lies much farther south in the countryside west of Madison. The map therefore describes a journey across different Wisconsin landscapes, with separate destinations and regional stops rather than a compact three summit walk in one local area.
