Discover Virginia
Virginia's mountain landscapes stretch a long way, and this selection makes that breadth explicit. Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain belong to the southwestern highlands, while Sharp Top rises farther northeast in the Peaks of Otter area. The grouping connects two distinct parts of the state's Appalachian country rather than one local circuit.
Rogers and Whitetop form the closer pair, with high ridges and broad upland surroundings giving southwestern Virginia its character. Sharp Top adds a more isolated Blue Ridge landmark to the enquiry. A journey combining them would include the country between these regions, so the mountain names act as geographical anchors for a wider Virginia experience rather than suggesting three adjacent summits with identical settings.
