Discover New Hampshire

Mount Washington, Mount Adams and Mount Jefferson form a strongly connected geographical group in New Hampshire's northern Presidential Range. The mountains sit within the White Mountains, where high exposed ridges rise above forested valleys. Unlike a statewide collection of distant names, this enquiry concentrates on one recognisable mountain landscape.

Washington anchors the southern end of the selected trio, with Jefferson and Adams extending the focus northwards along the range. Their closeness on the map does not make the terrain uniform, but it gives the journey a clear shared identity. The surrounding notches, valleys and mountain communities provide the wider setting for an enquiry centred on the Presidential Range rather than on New Hampshire as a whole.
