Discover Nevada
The Spring Mountains rise abruptly from the Mojave Desert west of Las Vegas, creating a compact mountain world above the surrounding basins. Charleston Peak, Griffith Peak and Mummy Mountain all belong to this same range. Their shared setting makes the enquiry much more geographically focused than a journey across Nevada's many scattered mountain systems.
Charleston is the range's defining summit, Griffith lies to its southeast, and Mummy anchors another part of the high country to the northeast. The contrast between desert surroundings and elevated mountain landscapes gives the group its identity. These are separate summit destinations within one range; the selection does not imply that every connection is a straightforward walking route or that an uninterrupted traverse is the appropriate plan.
