Discover Nebraska
Nebraska's western Panhandle has a dramatic landscape of open plains, escarpments and isolated uplands. Panorama Point, Hogback Mountain and Scotts Bluff bring together three different expressions of that country. The selection is about the character of the western state rather than an attempt to reproduce an alpine mountain challenge.
Panorama Point lies in Nebraska's far southwestern corner and supplies the state highpoint link. Hogback Mountain and Scotts Bluff take the enquiry into the landforms around the North Platte country. Their separation makes a road-based regional journey the geographical framework, with the broad plains and rising bluffs between destinations forming an essential part of the experience rather than empty space between summit markers.
