Discover Arkansas
Arkansas offers mountains with a different outline from the alpine West: broad uplands, wooded slopes and isolated summits above river country. Signal Hill on Mount Magazine, Mount Nebo and Pinnacle Mountain bring together three recognisable landmarks linked by the wider Arkansas River landscape, from western high ground towards Little Rock.
Signal Hill is the highest point on Mount Magazine, giving the broad upland a distinct summit destination. Mount Nebo provides another elevated plateau setting, while Pinnacle's more sharply defined outline creates a strong contrast near the state capital. This is an enquiry about varied Arkansas uplands, with separate destinations and surrounding valleys forming as much of the story as the summit names.
