Three Peaks challenges in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines combines the mountainous volcanic island of Saint Vincent with smaller southern islands. The main island's high ground forms a different landscape from the surrounding maritime archipelago.
The landscapes of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Saint Vincent is the large mountainous island at the northern end of this Caribbean country, while the Grenadines extend south as a chain of smaller islands. The volcanic high ground of the main island belongs to a different physical setting from many of the lower maritime landscapes nearby.
The climate is tropical, with relatively little seasonal temperature variation and a more pronounced rainy period. Geography here is strongly shaped by the distinction between islands: Saint Vincent's interior provides the main mountain landscape, while the wider archipelago adds coastal and oceanic settings around it.
