Three Peaks challenges in Brunei
Brunei's coastal plain rises toward hill country and mountains in the east. Its small territory on Borneo contains a marked contrast between low coastal landscapes and the more elevated interior.
The landscapes of Brunei
Brunei’s two parts are separated by Malaysian territory, and their landscapes are not interchangeable. Temburong contains the more mountainous eastern interior, while the western part includes lower hills and coastal country. That division gives a mountain enquiry a clear geographical starting point: the elevated eastern landscape should be considered as its own destination within a wider visit to Brunei.
