Three Peaks challenges in Central African Republic
The Central African Republic occupies an inland plateau near the continent's geographical centre. Scattered hills in the northeast and southwest rise above a broader landscape of rolling ground and river basins.
The landscapes of Central African Republic
The country’s higher landmarks rise from an extensive plateau rather than a continuous alpine range. Mont Ngaoui lies towards the western frontier, while other hills punctuate the northeast and southwest. For a landscape enquiry, those regional differences are more useful than treating the entire interior as mountain country: much of the surrounding terrain remains broadly rolling and river-shaped.
