Three Peaks challenges in Grenada
Grenada is a volcanic island with mountains concentrated in its interior. The central high ground gives a different perspective on this southern Caribbean destination from its surrounding coastal landscapes.
The landscapes of Grenada
Grenada's mountain scenery is concentrated in the island's volcanic interior. Mount Saint Catherine rises above this central high ground, while the land falls towards a coastline shared by the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean.
Mount Saint Catherine occupies the northern part of the main island, while the Grand Etang area lies farther south in the interior. These are inland volcanic landscapes, with folds of hills between the higher ground and the bays below. Grenada's small size makes the sea a persistent geographical reference.
