Three Peaks challenges in Netherlands
The Netherlands is largely a landscape of coastal lowlands, reclaimed ground and southeastern hills. Its European geography offers modest relief; the Caribbean parts of the country have a different physical setting.
The landscapes of Netherlands
The European Netherlands is predominantly a landscape of coastal lowlands, reclaimed land and major river mouths. Its southeastern hills offer modest relief, but there is no Alpine-style mountain range within this part of the country.
The hills of southern Limburg provide the European country's most pronounced inland relief. Saba, far away in the Caribbean, has a completely different volcanic landscape around Mount Scenery. Those settings belong to the same country but different geographical regions; their separation is fundamental to understanding the destinations rather than a minor itinerary detail.
