Bobotov Kuk gives this group a Durmitor focus, with the other selected elevations occupying surrounding upland positions. The setting belongs to Montenegro's rugged interior, contrasting with the narrow Adriatic coastal plain and the lower valleys between mountain blocks.

Limestone mountains and plateaus dominate much of Montenegro's interior. Durmitor is one recognisable mountain block within that wider landscape, while the other selected heights extend the journey beyond it; valleys and intervening uplands separate the objectives from the narrow Adriatic coastal belt.
