Three Peaks challenges in Finland
Finland's lake country and low rolling plains give way to higher fells in the far north. The Lapland landscape offers a different mountain experience from the steeper alpine ranges elsewhere in Europe.
The landscapes of Finland
Northern Finland’s fells offer open upland country, quite different from the lake-filled plains farther south. The highest Finnish ground is on the Halti massif near the Norwegian border, rather than the massif’s summit in Norway. That distinction matters when choosing mountain objectives: a Finnish itinerary should be based on the actual border geography, not simply a list of familiar mountain names.
