Three Peaks challenges in Albania
Albania combines an Adriatic and Ionian coastline with a largely mountainous interior. Its inland valleys and uplands offer a different geographical perspective from the narrow plains beside the sea.
The landscapes of Albania
The coast occupies only a narrow part of Albania’s landscape. Inland, successive hills and ranges frame river valleys, with Korab marking the country’s highest ground on the border with North Macedonia. A mountain-focused visit can therefore concentrate on a particular inland region, rather than treating the entire country as an extension of its seaside destinations.
