Discover Chaiyaphum

The selected mountains focus on northeastern Thailand's inland relief, away from the higher northern ranges and the southern peninsula. Their setting belongs to the transition around the Khorat Plateau, rather than the broad central river plain.

Phang Hoei belongs to the upland margin around the Khorat Plateau. The surrounding region marks a transition between northeastern plateau country and the lower central basin. These inland hills therefore have a different geographical identity from Thailand's northern mountain borderlands or the narrow maritime ranges extending down the southern peninsula.
