Three Peaks challenges in Singapore
Singapore's modest central hills sit within a predominantly low island landscape. Its geography supports a different kind of walking experience from mountain destinations, with limited elevation and a strongly tropical setting.
The landscapes of Singapore
Singapore is predominantly low, with a gently undulating central plateau rather than a large mountain range. Its modest hills sit within an island setting at the southern end of the Malay Peninsula. Changes in elevation are small compared with the higher uplands of mainland Southeast Asia.
The climate is hot, humid and rainy, with northeast and southwest monsoon influences and thunderstorms between those broad seasons. Singapore's geographical character supports a lowland tropical walking destination. The central hills provide local relief within the island, without creating a conventional three-mountain landscape.
