Discover Musandam Governorate

The selected Jabal landmarks focus on Musandam, geographically separate from much of Oman's main territory. Its mountain terrain rises close to the sea, giving this peninsula a different setting from the country's broad desert interior and the uplands farther south.

Musandam projects towards the Strait of Hormuz, separated from Oman's main territory by the United Arab Emirates. Its rugged relief meets the coast within a narrow peninsula, making the relationship between mountain and sea much more immediate than in the broad central deserts.
