Discover Daykundi
Daykundi occupies part of Afghanistan's central mountain country, well inland from the lower northern and southwestern plains. The three named high points belong to this rugged highland setting, where the surrounding terrain is divided into mountain ridges and valleys.
Daykundi is separated geographically from the Hindu Kush's northern reaches and the narrow Wakhan extension. Afghanistan's dry continental setting brings strong seasonal contrasts, with cold winters and hot summers across much of the interior; elevation adds further variation between valleys and higher ground.
