Discover Aosta Valley
Gran Paradiso, Mont Avril and the Trélatête summits occupy different parts of the western Alpine landscape. The group spans separate mountain blocks around the Aosta region, rather than one continuous ridge, within Italy's northern highland boundary with neighbouring countries.
The Aosta region brings several major Alpine landscapes into a relatively small geographical area. Gran Paradiso forms its own massif, while Mont Avril and Trélatête belong to different frontier settings; the intervening valleys are an important part of understanding this three-mountain journey.
