Trois Frères and the other selected mountains focus on the Seychelles' granitic high-island landscape. This terrain is distinct from the archipelago's lower coral islands and reefs, with rocky uplands rising behind comparatively narrow coastal margins.

These landmarks lie on Mahé, where the central granite uplands divide coastal areas within a relatively narrow island. Trois Frères belongs to the high ground near Victoria, while the other peaks extend the focus across Mahé's interior. This is a single-island mountain setting rather than a circuit through the scattered outer islands.
