Discover Upper Matsiatra

Boby places this group in Madagascar's southern highland country. The other selected elevations occupy nearby interior settings, distinct from the island's lower coastal plains and from the separate northern mountain regions within this long Indian Ocean island.

Madagascar's central highlands extend over a large part of the island, but the Boby area belongs to a specific southern mountain setting. Inland elevation moderates the coastal tropical climate, while the landscape changes again towards the drier far south of the island.
