Discover Oum el Bouaghi
The Oum el Bouaghi area provides a different Algerian setting from either the Mediterranean shore or the far southern Hoggar. These named mountains belong to the northern interior, within a country whose relief changes from coastal ranges to high plateaus and desert.
Northern Algeria contains several different environments within a relatively short coast-to-interior transition. Wetter Mediterranean winters give way to drier plateau conditions inland, where winters are colder and summers hot. This combination of elevation and aridity is central to the northeastern mountain setting.
